Magnesium is a cofactor in more than 300 enzyme systems that regulate diverse biochemical reactions in the body, including protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control and blood pressure regulation.
Magnesium comes in either organic or inorganic forms. Organic forms include citrate, aspartate, orotate, fumarate and amino acid chelates. Inorganic forms include oxide, chloride and carbonate. Organic forms of magnesium are generally better absorbed and produce fewer gastrointestinal disturbances when compared to the inorganic forms of magnesium.
Magnesium Orotate the heart magnesium. Magnesium is bound to orotic acid. The salt is poorly soluble in water and does not bind to gastric acid and does not exhibit laxative effects like Magnesium Citrate. Due to the bond with orotic acid it is indicated as an effective treatment of magnesium depletion (orotate is classified as the magnesium-fixing agent) and have a protective role in heart disease.
Magnesium Malate is the muscle magnesium. Magnesium is bound here to malate. This combination may help relieve muscular pains, depression and fatigue.
Pyridoxine is a form of Vitamin B6 vitamin supplement. Vitamin B6 provides an array of health benefits and may assist with general wellbeing.
Taurine is a naturally occurring amino sulfonic acid with important functions in the heart and brain. Taurine supplementation may assist with energy metabolism.
