Indications: Herbal medicine for the relief from intestinal parasites and nematode infestations.
Contra-indications: Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Not to be used in the following conditions: stomach ulcers, intestinal ulcers, pre-existing kidney disease, liver conditions and liver damage, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction and undiagnosed pain and during menstruation. Not to be taken by children under the age of 12 years old or generally debilitated persons. Foeniculum vulgare has an emmenagogue action and is contra-indicated in pregnancy Rhamnus purshianus can cause irritation and inflammation of the bowel and should not be taken by persons with any inflammatory bowel disease condition.
Warnings: Avoid in persons with known allergies. Allergic hyper sensitivity may occur to the constituents in the product. Contains Artemisia afra, high doses and chronic use should be avoided due to the potential harmful effects of the ingredient thujone. Contains: Larrea tridentate large doses may affect liver.
Picrasma excelsa may cause gastro-intestinal irritation.
Drug Interaction: Rhamnus purshianus concomitant use with other drugs inducing hypokalaemia (thiazide diuretics, adreno-corticoids and liquorice root may enhance electrolyte imbalance.
Pregnancy and Lactation: Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Dosage and directions for use: Take two capsules three times daily, or as prescribed.
Side-effects and special precautions: May cause irritation of the stomach and stimulation of the intestines. Discontinue usage if sensitive or allergic reactions are experienced
Known symptoms of over dosage and particulars of its treatment:
Symptoms can include headache, trembling, stupor, convulsions, abdominal pain with griping and inflammation, nausea, vomiting and severe diarrhoea, may be accompanied by dry mouth and severe thirst from fluid loss. Habitual and chronic use results in weakness, hypokalemia and melanization of the colon, often serious with children and underweight individuals. Overdose treatment is symptomatic and supportive with fluids and electrolytes.
